Iran’s Strategy: Independence and Self-Reliance, Qalibaf on U.S. Election
WANA (Nov 10) – Iran’s national strength and independent approach form the core of its resilience against external threats, said Speaker of the Parliament Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf. During Sunday’s parliamentary session, he emphasized that “Our own national power, assertive diplomacy, and revolutionary pragmatism shapes Iran’s relationship with other powers.”
Regarding the recent U.S. elections, Qalibaf remarked that while each American president may have a unique approach, Iran’s strategy remains consistent: independence and self-reliance. “The coming and going of foreign leaders doesn’t impact Iran’s ability to defend its interests as long as we remain focused on our domestic strengths and Iranian resolve,” he stated.
Qalibaf praised the Iranian people as the true cornerstone of the nation’s power. Through faith in divine principles and leveraging domestic capabilities, he said, the people fortify Iran’s military, economic, political, and social foundations. He emphasized that the Islamic Republic’s success stems from its fundamental principle of independence and resistance to foreign dependency.
As emerging powers like Iran continue to assert their role on the global stage, Qalibaf sees the development of new strategic alliances as essential. Such partnerships, he suggested, will enhance mutual interests and reshape the world order.
The Speaker underscored Iran’s focus on internal development as the most effective deterrent against external pressures. “Strengthening our economy and resolving domestic issues, particularly economic challenges, remain our most powerful defenses against any threat.”
In conclusion, Qalibaf expressed sincere gratitude to the Armed Forces, particularly the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), for recent counter-terrorism operations in eastern Iran, which dealt precise and effective blows to terrorist groups.
